Glenlea Charolais is one of the oldest in Tasmania, its beginnings dating back to 1973.
Over the years genetics from all over the world have been used to produce a type of Charolais that are easy calving, have rapid growth and excellent carcass qualities. Bulls for cross breeding, purebred females, and embryo's and semen are always available for sale.
The development and identifcation of our top performing cow families is the foundation upon which we base all of our enterprise. Extensive E.T. and A.I. along with selection of the most suitable sires to use in our programme is ongoing.
A feature of this year's calves is that they are progeny from our new sire "Zac" purchased at the 2006 National Sale for the top price of $20,000. Semen is available.
In 2007 over 100 purebred calves will be born, with around 40 of these E.T. calves. Embryo's from many matings are available.
Visitors are welcome at Glenlea and we always look forward to showing our cattle to all visitors.

years still milking like a dairy cow and as sound as a four year
